My rating: 5 of 5 stars
Did the book description relate to the story? The description matched and provided a wonderful introduction for the story.
How did you feel about the opening / ending sequences of the book? The introduction is both great and sad. Sad that so many creatures will die, sad that so many different animals died. The ending felt perfect for this book.
Who was your favourite character and why? My preference is for Darius. A single lone animal, the last of his kind, wise beyond his years. Someone that has knowledge, wisdom and helpful advice for all.
What were the main relationships explored in this book? Learning to accept change. Change is hard for all of us, it makes a reader wonder how hard change is for animals. Greed is something we all face. De Montigny shows readers how people become obsessed with greed and how it affects out lives.
Was this book worth reading? This is a perfect read for an adult or young tween. I know several friends with children who will definitely love this book.
Disclosure - I received a complimentary copy from the author which did not affect my honest opinion.
