What inspired you to write your first book?
My first published novel (as Karen Mueller Bryson) was Hey Dorothy You’re Not in Kansas Anymore, which was inspired by my move to Canada as well as my family’s reaction to my father’s death.
Have you developed a specific writing style?
My writing tends to be concise and to the point. I use only as much detail as necessary to get the point across. Some readers think my writing is too sparse but I leave out the parts that I tend to skip when I read other writers’ work. The slogan of my publishing company is “fast-paced and fun novels for readers on the go.”
What is your greatest strength as a writer?
I write every day and am quite prolific. I’ve trained myself to write quickly so I can maximize my output.
Have you ever had writer’s block? If so, what do you do about it?
No. My motto is “butt in chair until there are words on the page.”
Who designed the cover?
My husband, Tony Bryson, is the cover designer for our company, Short on Time Books.
This is BOOK ONE of the FIRE ON ICE series.
BOOK TWO, THE PLAYMAKER, is now available.
He’s Fire on Ice and she’s afraid to get burned again…
“You always think a guy is going to be different until he’s not.”
Firestorm Center Kian Kavanagh dominates the ice like a rock star dominates the stage. He’s the hottest new player to be recruited for the Firestorm, a newly established professional hockey team in Northern Arizona.
After Taylor Thompson’s heart was completely shattered by her high school’s most popular jock, she vowed never to date another athlete. And she keeps that promise through her first three years of college by putting up impenetrable walls to protect her from heartbreak.
But after a chance meeting with the charming and irresistible Kian Kavanagh, Taylor’s carefully constructed walls are in serious danger of being burned down by Mr. Fire on Ice.
