Interview with USA Today BestSelling #Author Karolyn James @karolynwrites #amreading #romance

  1. What writing are you most proud of? – Brothers of Rock really launched my career. It opened a lot of doors for me, including Ferry Creek. I’ll always love Brothers of Rock AND there’s no end in sight! ;)
  2. What are you most proud of in your personal life? – My two children. They are beautiful, smart, and they enjoy books and writing.
  3. What book genre of books do you adore? – I love romance books. Not just because I write romance but because they’ve always meant so much to me. I think it’s because the sub-genres are so much fun. Steamy romance to romantic suspense… western romance to billionaire romance… so many possibilities!
  4. Is there any books you really don’t enjoy? – I cannot get into sci-fi stuff. I’ve tried but I can’t do it.
  5. How did you develop your writing? – I developed it by writing a lot. That’s all you can do. Sure, study the craft and read a lot of books, but the writing comes down to actually writing.
  6. What is hardest – getting published, writing or marketing? – The marketing for me is a pain in the butt! I love talking with fans though. But to get out there and market… ugh. I wish I could just write forever!
  7. What marketing works for you? – For me, it’s about being available. I hold a lot of contests and I always make sure my readers know how I much I appreciate them supporting me. That alone helps a lot. I want my readers to trust me as much as I trust them!
  8. Is your family supportive? Do your friends support you? – I have a great support system around me. The best friends and family I could ask for. They love that I’m a writer!
  9. Do you plan to publish more books? – YES! I have so many books planned for Ferry Creek. Plus, Brothers of Rock will continue… and I have some other series in mind!
  10. If you could study any subject at university what would you pick? – I would love to study psychology! It only seems fitting for a romance author, right?
  11. If you could live anywhere in the world where would it be? – A small cabin tucked away in Maine or Washington state… I want to be hidden in the woods with a fire burning and my fingers typing.
  12. How do you write – lap top, pen, paper, in bed, at a desk? – I outline with pen and paper. I write with my laptop. I always work in my office.
From Karolyn James, the NY Times / USA Today Bestselling author of the Brothers of Rock series...
A small town built on family, hope, and a chance to find true love.
Coming to Ferry Creek was supposed to be a short trip to settle a past, not begin a future.
The day billionaire businessman Sullivan Chasen receives a phone call that his father is dying is the day his world became turned upside down. The problem is that his father has been dead for ten years. The bigger problem is that the person who called keeps calling, insisting that Sullivan's father is going to die soon.
A shocking DNA test suddenly has Sullivan questioning everything he has ever known and has him packing up and driving to the small town of Ferry Creek, North Carolina.
There, he confronts a past he never knew existed, including a half-brother who is living in a small apartment above the family diner, a local staple in Ferry Creek.
What begins as a short trip to settle any necessary needs soon turns into a new life for Sullivan. The longer he stays in Ferry Creek, the more he falls in love with the small town... and a waitress named Jess who works at the diner.
