My rating: 4 of 5 stars
Brian Bloom's attempts to highlight major world issues deserves applause. In one book alone, he covers climate change, economy and military secrets. Include a layered and fascinating hero, you have more than a good book. The only thing that did not work for me was that despite the book being published for more than a year, we were given a draft copy.
Had this been a draft that errors had already been corrected and pending a final read was one thing, this was a draft copy with errors marked in green which we had to put up with for more than 400 pages. This made reading the book extremely slow not to mention tedious.
I digress. The story seeks to inform. Where the news tells us A, voices like WikiLeaks and Edward Snowden give us plenty to think about with their versions of the truth as does Brian Bloom's The Last Finesse. Between Luke's lifestyle and the factual issues, readers will definitely be entertained and informed.
Do I recommend this book? Yes, if you are purchasing it, I don't think you will have the green markings as we did and your reading experience will be far better. For the sake of comparison, if you enjoyed Tom Clancy, you will definitely enjoy Beyond Neanderthal and The Last Finesse by Brian Bloom.
