My rating: 4 of 5 stars
My book club district approached this book expecting a standard office romance tale. It turned out to be much more and a really fun read. The blurb suggested a sassy young office employee slowly falling in love with the aloof billionaire mogul whilst sharing some experiences.
That description absolutely doesn’t give the author the credit she deserves. The characters were great. Mary-Kate and William are both believable, likeable and easy to empathise with. In the famous words from Jerry Maguire, they truly showed what it meant with, 'You complete me.'
However, what I found to be a bit unsettling was the between the two which although at times brilliant, funny and smart - it was also stiff and I felt that the readers never really get a chance to know William as much as we would like to.
The chemistry between the them is easily felt through the pages. I was swept along with the overall storyline. I also liked that the story doesn’t quite follow the path you would expect. It was as if what you expected to happened, happened when you least expected it to. Overall this was a fun book to read and written well. Recommended.
