Book Club Pick - Death in Bagheria

Death In Bagheria (A Serafina Florio Mystery, #3)Death In Bagheria by Susan Russo Anderson
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Did the book description relate to the story? Yes, it was good to get an idea of what was coming up. The author clearly mentions this is the third book in the series so I look forward to reading the other books. Serafina is a strong character.

How did you feel about the opening / ending sequences of the book? The conclusion was better than the beginning for me. I think I may appreciate the beginning a bit more if I had read Serafina's other adventures.

Who was your favourite character and why? Well, it would have to be Serafina. My book club members and I compared her to Agatha Christie's Marple. I felt there was a slight tinge of Poirot as well. Serafina seems like a know it all but then with 7 children, you would have seen a little bit of everything I guess.

What were the main relationships explored in this book? Family. Of course the mystery and thriller elements keep the story going but the family ties connected to the mystery and Serafina's family life binds the story.

Was this book worth reading? Yes, and I would definitely recommend this book to others. She's in a class of her own.

Disclosure - I received a complimentary copy from the author which did not affect my honest opinion.
