Book Club Pick - Perception

Perception (Perception, #1)Perception by Lee Strauss
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Did the book description relate to the story? Yes, the reader is able to get an overview of Zoe and what she's in for. The phrase genetically altered person spiked my interest in the story.

How did you feel about the opening / ending sequences of the book? The beginning did it for me. Lee's writing is as smooth as butter and it was such a pleasure to be introduced to Zoe.

Who was your favourite character and why? Obviously, it is Zoe. You see her go from carefree to troubled. She lets go of her inhibitions and becomes a whole new person. And of course, the story just gets better.

What were the main relationships explored in this book? Friendship. Maybe, trust. In a time when you know you can't trust anyone, who do you turn to? Zoe goes to Noah, who already hates her. Their relationship takes on a whole new angle and the reader is more than entertained.

Was this book worth reading? Yes, and I would definitely recommend this book to others. My book club members and I really enjoyed this author and we look forward to reading her second book.

Disclosure - I received a complimentary copy from the author which did not affect my honest opinion.
