What inspires you to write and why? I realized it was a gift, since I was a child. I knew that I could seriously pursue it and make it a career. At the same time, writing is like therapy. After writing, I am relaxed and I feel I have accomplished something. Another inspiration is when I feel I have something to share with the world and it can benefit someone.
What genre are you most comfortable writing? Although majority of my writing has been nonfiction, I believe my easiest genre is romance/fiction.
What inspired you to write your first book? Boredom. While sitting at my job and doing nothing, I had an idea and decided to put it on paper.
Who or what influenced your writing once you began? Friends. I showed everyone a sample of what I had started to get their feedback and everyone’s response was positive and they encouraged me to continue writing.
Who or what influenced your writing over the years? A lot of my influence has come from family, friends, and spiritual leaders.
What made you want to be a writer? What do you consider the most challenging about writing a novel, or about writing in general? Writer’s block. I dread the moment when you have nothing to put down on paper. It is a heart-breaking moment for any true writer.
Have you ever questioned your relationship with God? Is it possible that you believe you are growing in God but you’re actually pulling away from Him? Has church become commercial and no longer sacred? Are people talking about the powerful message or are they talking about what someone wore? Are we more focused on fitting into a mold than living for God? It’s time to face the facts.
