Shadow CayShadow Cay by Leona Bodie
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Favourite scene …. Lane and Rico together. "Lane faced Rico and smiled, although inside she was a mess. Concealed but barely, hatred simmered in her core." In truth, they were both feeling exactly the opposite of what they were expressing to each other.

How would the book have been different if it had taken place in a different time or place? If it had been set in modern times, I think social media would have played a strong role in how information was exchanged between the characters. But I liked the way it was written. Social seems to overpower everything else these days so it was good to read a book that did not focus on this.

What did the title have to do with the book? The word shadow was the most important. Most of the situations in the book were never clear and were layered with shadows of mis-information. I recommend this book to anyone who likes a good mystery.

Disclosure: I received a review copy of this book from the author.
