muted: a short story in versemuted: a short story in verse by Jessica Bell
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

What is the book about? Some of us at the book club are convinced this story is about a weak government trying to silence a strong voice who dares to speak up. A lot of this going around so this is a valid point. However, when the voice is broken, does her spirit break too or does she find hope in an unlikely place? This is where "muted" got me going.

What did you think of the main character? So many women want to be like Concetta. She's strong, doesn't give up and doesn't allow herself to pushed around. Jessica Bell holds nothing back as readers are discovering the beloved Concetta and I think this is why readers fall in love with her.

Would you recommend this book? In a heartbeat. It's short, well-written ... you will not be disappointed. I have read more than one book by this author and I am definitely looking forward to reading other books by her.

Disclosure - As a Quality Reads Book Club member, I received a free copy of this book from the author via Orangeberry Book Tours in exchange for my honest review.
